KA Sails 2014

The 2014 KA Sail range is looking awesome this year and yet again Peter Weitenberg, Jesper Orth, Martin Love and Andrew McDougall improving the already great KA Sail Range. There's sail range is mostly unchanged with no new sail models added this year but the KA Kaos has now been dropped from the range. This year the following sails are available

Killer

The Killer is KA's all round Real World 5 batten wave sail. The 5 battens maximise the sails stability and wind range allowing the rider to commit his focus 100% to riding the wave. If you're looking for a great all round wave sail to use in a range of conditions then look no further, the 2014 Killer is a awesome wave weapon that will respond to everything you throw at it. This sail is also very much suited the the onshore and cross onshore conditions we find here in Europe

Available in the following sizes 3.3, 3.7, 4.2, 4.7, 5.0, 5.3, 5.6 and 6.2

Kryptonite

The Kryptonite is KA's 4 batten maneuver orientated wave/freestyle sail. It has a shorter more compact profile compared to the Killer with a bit less built in foil shape for a more throw about persona. Lighter and stronger in 2014 the Kryptonite brings wave and freestyle sailing to a level that is out of this world. If your looking for a down the line wavesail or freestyle sail, this is the sail you want

Available in the following sizes 3.3, 3.7, 4.2, 4.7 and 5.3

Kult

The Kult is KA's bump and jump allround sail which excels while playing around on flat water and in small waves. Heavier sailors such as myself find the Kult perfect for use as a light wind wave sail due to it's extra power compared to the other 2 wave sail ranges and it is also a excellent freeride sail, the all terrain Kult, take it anywhere. For all round freeride performance there is no better choice.

Available in the following sizes 4.7, 5.3, 5.8, 6.4 and 7.0

Kama

The Kama has been designed specifically for the entry level freeride market, this is a sail that will enhance the learning experience and take sailors beyond those first steps on the water. It is a perfect choice for beginners and entry level sailors and is easy to rig, waterstart and jibe.

Available in the following sizes 3.5, 4.5, 5.5 and 6.5

Koyote

The Koyote is KA's no cam freeride weapon. All the learnings from the continuous R&D programme for the Koncept have been incorporated into this sail so it has a powerful lower half to deliver great planing power and has a progressive leach twist and slippery upper foil profile that reduces drag and delivers a blistering top speed. This sail is seriously fast and has topped 40 knots on numerous occasions

Available in the following sizes 5.3, 5.9, 6.6, 7.4 and 8.2

Koncept

The Koncept is considered to be KA's signature sail and has both impressed and brought smiles to speed freaks around the world for many years. A personal favourite of mine, i use this sail myself for speedsailing. The Koncept combines the blistering speed and acceleration of a race sail with the user friendliness of a freeride sail. Feels light in your hands with the stability of high performance race sail but doesn't become a monster you cannot hang onto. The smaller sizes 4.2-6.2 have more shape lower down and optimised more for speed sailing and 6.6-9.5 and a little flatter and more slalom orientated and faster across the wind. Can be used on RDM and SDM mast, personally i use RDM's in my 6.6 and below and SDM's in my 7.5 and above. Koncept the science of speed!!

Available in the following sizes 4.2, 4.6, 5.0, 5.4, 5.8, 6.2, 6.6, 7.5, 8.5 and 9.5

KaRace

The KaRace is KA's race winning weapon that allows any serious racer to reach his or her's full potential and it is constantly being fine tuned. The highly successful 2013 design has been improved again with multiple small tweaks and changes rather than massively changing the already great design, which when all combined pushed the performance level even higher. The end result is a lighter and softer feel will less pull from up high making the sail easier to lock down especially in rougher water. With new cams the sail has a greater lower foil profile and also improve ratation. In the hands of KA's new team rider Peter Volwater, expect to see some good results on the PWA this year

Available in the following sizes 5.4, 6.3, 7.1, 7.9, 8.7, 9.4, 9.8, 10.8 and 11.8

I will have the KA Koncept and KA Kult available for demo here in Ireland so if you want to try these excellent sails then give me a shout and if you want to see further information on the KA Sail range or the mast, booms and accessories available you can check them out here

See you on the water

New Sponsor

I am very pleased to announce that i have become a team rider for Gath Helmets UK.

To anyone participating in an extreme sport Gath needs no introduction as they produce the best helmets on the market and the chosen helmet by top sportsmen around the world.

There's been quite a few times when i have been speedsailing where i have crashed, hit my head and been dazed in the water not knowing what happened. Luckily when this has happened i have not been knocked out or seriously injured my head but as i continue to push my limits in what speeds i can achieve on the water i decided now it was now time to make sure i am protected from serious injury and from being knocked out if i ever hit my head.

I am stoked to now be representing Gath Helmets and being part of this iconic extreme sports brand
